We’re proud of our team members, and we want everyone else to know how great they are. That’s why each month we talk with one of our employees to let them share how they shine in their role. This month, we’re talking with Property Manager Justin Bartholome.

What’s been your most exciting project recently?

We are currently in the process of rebranding our two Boutique Art Hotels, Oak Street Mansion and Southmoreland. One of our main focus points is partnering with other local businesses to not only show our support, but how we are also a part of this community as well. Having the opportunity to be a part of this is very special to me as a Kansas City local who has lived here my whole life.

How do you utilize our core values in your role?

My property manager Emily and I work together closely and collaborate daily with one another on improvements and updates, and admittingly tend to over communicate to ensure we are all on the same page. Dealing with historic homes, maintenance issues tend to arise all hours of the day and night, so practicing flexibility in your daily routine is a must as you never know what might pop up throughout the day. As for resourcefulness, we are lucky enough to have a large network of fellow employees in various fields to call upon for help or advice, from maintenance technicians to owners and directors that help guide us to success.

What have been some highlights during your time with Clemons?

One of my favorite highlights with Clemons was attending the happy hour last summer that was hosted on the rooftop. This was one of the first times I really had a chance to meet and talk with other departments in Clemons who I haven’t met yet, since not all of us work in the same building every day. It was great meeting new people and putting some faces to names, spending some quality time with the staff, and enjoying cold drinks on a hot summer day!
